I feel that for countries with less autism resources, smaller autism groups, especially those led by autistic people themselves, with the national autism organization, whenever possible, in the framework of both equality, and the focus to maximizing ASDs' potentials, should do more good than harm.
Those ASDs who feel that they are not heard and they can do better, they will not like it, but I will support autism forums in these country-based merging, and they can work on a common, autistic individual-centric roadmap together.
We simply have to look objectively as a whole autism community, put aside our misgivings with NTs because of past unpleasant experiences, and enable ourselves, everyone of us, to be our best.
I believe the immediate needs to autistic people would be targeted outreach to autistic individuals in such countries, based on specific needs of each autistic individual. Most ideally, we should look beyond IQ. IQ suggests the ?workable? and ?non-workable? autistic individuals, who can perform specific tasks. I think differently. Some autistic people have the ability to reach self-realization, the highest level of needs on the Maslow?s hierarchy of needs, and so if there is anything to change our ?obsessions? into something that are socially desirable and constructive, why not try them out?
(I would not call it ?help? because it assumes the superiority of other people, something that will not sit well for idealistic people.)
Meanwhile, while I am working hard on my personal goals to improve on my lot (and eventually, my family and community, too), I also hope our societies can do more, in terms of providing for the most vulnerable in our community, as well as giving members of our community - the education and employment opportunities to excel in our fields of work.
