Monstercat Song Review - 23 to 27 Oct 2023

Monday

MUZZ - Pressure on the Masses [Monstercat Release]

Considering that this was (if I recall correctly) the first original song from this artist in quite a long time, with said artist being among my all-time favourite MC artists, I had high expectations for this song going in. Unfortunately the only element of this track I found memorable in any way were the French spoken-word vocals.

Flexible Fire & Dias Ridge - Time Trials [Monstercat Release]

This was a nice relaxing track to chill/vibe to. Started and ended well but was a bit weaker in the middle.

Rebel Scum & Tasha Baxter - Endgame [Monstercat Release]

I liked the break beat that came in about halfway through, but apart from that I found this one fairly bland.

BEAUZ, Ellis & Sarah de Warren - IRL [Monstercat Release]

I’m glad this was better than last week’s Instinct song. Great drop, but the outro felt a bit abrupt.

Moss & Example - Strictly 4 Tha [Monstercat Release]

I must admit, I didn’t realise this was that Example (Elliot John Gleave) until the end of my initial listen-through. It’s a bit of a change in direction from his old hits, but still, I liked it! The only thing I would really ding this song for is that the second verse is the same as the first.
