Since it was Autism Awareness Week, at school on Friday, I thought to spread some awareness! So, while my class was at dance, I took a whiteboard marker and wrote 'Autism awareness week' on the classroom whiteboard.
So when my class came back from dancing, one person asked "what is autism?".
Then the teacher saw the message I had written all over the whiteboard.
Ah oh.
I thought "I did not write that miss! Hum de hum hum... "
So the teacher told the class about it. Considering how complicated autism is, (as everyone's different) I think the teacher did a pretty good job of explaining it. Then she talked about how there's quite a few kids in class who had it. I had had a hunch that some kids might have it, but now my analysis has been confirmed!
Later, the teacher came up to me. I had a terrible thought that she might have said "why did you write on the board?! You know you can't write on that!"
But instead she said "that was brilliant what you wrote! Really smart what you did there. "
So there ya go. Awareness spreading successful!
