Brood War: Can Finally Customize Hotkeys!

SCScrnShot_112517_172318.webp
Blizzard released Starcraft Brood War: Remastered. Turns out, that also means that they've made the original Starcraft totally free, because something about the remastered version needing that before you can play. Now, it's important to note that the remastered version only gives the game a much cleaner and smoother look, while the basic gameplay is exactly the same; though now you can remap the hotkeys and zoom in and out (I think?). The free non-remastered version still has the remap hotkeys thing, though not the zoom (it may only work in replays, not sure). In general, it makes the game a bit more customizable, so people can play properly. I mean, I absolutely love that I can finally move those pesky far-away hotkeys for ridiculously important stuff (looking at you, build overlord button). There's also an inbuilt APM counter, so you can track how well you're doing, actions per minute-wise.

All this is real fun and all, but the part I'm looking forward to the most is the Battlenet servers so I can play with some actual people rather than the stupid AI the game normally has(Seriously, I can beat them between like 5-20 min 1v1, depending on the race, and up to 2 with confidence, and 3 at once probably, given proper stalling done on my part). My brother is the only other person I could play against before now, and he and I started around the same time.

By the way, the picture featured for this post is a screenshot of the non-remastered replay of the game me and my brother played against 3 AI; I was the brown Zerg (the reptilian-bug carapace-covered monsters), and he played the blue Terran (read: space cowboy cyborg humans), against 2 Terrans (red and purple) and 1 Zerg (white). I murdered all 3 AI basically by myself, though my brother did keep my southern half safe long enough for me to do the slaughter (see the stream of brown in the minimap in the corner, also, colors are randomized, so that's a thing I really want to change).

Anyway, here're a few pics to help with comparisons:
