Evolutionary Development, and the only way I'll listen to Despacito at the Moment

Science and music, some of my most favorite things. It's no wonder then that this song, as well as most of his (Tim Blaise, the artist who made this parody) work have made it very easily into the ranks of my favorite songs.

Where do I even begin? Hm... Music aspect first, then science aspect then I suppose.

It's a capella, and some people might not like it very much, but I think it's amazing how much range you can get. Combined that with good editing and you get quite the fun time listening, though I'd really recommend you check his other works, specifically Bring Me a Gene, and Whole New Worlds (Parodies of Mr. Sandman and songs from Aladdin respectively).

Now for the science. It's about, again, Evolutionary Development (Evo-Devo), and right off the bat he gives quite a bit; starting with books and resources on the topic, specifically their authors. Then throughout the song he describes generally how the DNA in your cells work to make proteins, how the DNA is used as a blueprint, especially in dictating how your body parts grow, all really interesting stuff. Seriously, the man may have a paper in Physics but he's done his homework for the song. It's that kind of research that makes these songs great ways to keep certain concepts in your head (though to be fair some of them are just for fun; no science lesson, like his "Take a Test").

That's about it for now.
