shop rats:
I lived in Flint so long I forgot that some people think "shop rat" is
a derogatory term. Most of the guys and some of the girls I knew were all
shop rats. I worked in a factory for a few weeks. Not long enough to
qualify as a shop rat. I am more of a lab rat [subject of study].

To praise something or someone as being greater than yourself.

Aaron always seemed like the younger brother to me.
I don't expect the older brother to sell out the way Aaron did.
Automotive Worship was the idea of honoring cars as gods.
This amused me. Manufactured items being consulted as if
they had sentience/wisdom/power of their own.
Songs about boys bragging up their cars.....aren't that different from
the bragging songs of traditional tribal African boys. The topic of
both is 'manhood'/virility.
