Young Boy's Special Interest Gaining Lots of Attention

Caltrans (California DOT) has been replacing guardrails along Interstate 5 near Grenada, a tiny town in Siskiyou County. They had to rip out all of the railings surrounding the Grenada Overhang, the official name of the interchange connecting Road A12 to I-5, and replace them. Speed limits were reduced from a normal 70mph to 50, enforced by CHP (state troopers) units visibly posted with flashing lights. Guardrail rot is a serious problem in areas that get lots of snow like here in Siskiyou County/Jefferson. The original rails were built with wooden posts, which have rotted over decades. The new ones have steel posts.
