Wrongplanet.net dead?

Has anyone noticed Wrongplanet seems to have been offline for a few days now, this time perhaps the most serious outage?

Anyone knows what happened?
 
I had a mooch but it doesn’t seem to pinpoint the moment it went offline.

I'm not overly worried and actually think the site should be put out of its misery now. It just seems to coincide with a sudden surge in complaints and discontent with how the site is run over the last few years, particularly the last few months.

Timing seems odd
 
A little while ago it said: Service Unavailable. The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Now it's: This page isn’t working. wrongplanet.net is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500

I think it got hacked. And Alex had to take it down to fix it. Just a guess. But it's happened before.
 
I can't say that exactly. [Replying to Nines]. Is an otherwise good site but they really need more balanced moderating team so they can keep each other in check.

(No point in being overly negative without suggesting ideas to overcome the sites problems on why they lost so many decent members. This hacking is in some ways a smaller concern, though it is a real nuisance).

Thanks for that. Is good news.

(You and the moderating team on here are doing a great job.
I am not saying the WP moderation team are bad people. They are nice people. They just need a wider tallent of moderation drawn in from people of different backgrounds so they can draw on each others talents and keep each other in check).

Anyway. Is good news WP is back going again. I have a few friends on there I PM, so I am greatful for their site.
