Hi! thought I come back on here as I realize I haven’t been on this forum for a couple of months. Let’s see where have I been, oh right I’m currently as of 4 months now been working at my first healthcare job working as a medical transporter for a hospital in my city. Yeah as the name tells it I transport various patients to different places within the hospital mainly going for radiology tests (CT, MRI, nuclear, etc.) and taking emergency room patients to their rooms for observation. I’ve learned a lot being on the job such as interacting with individuals and their needs as well as providing the most basic care (mainly walking patients from a bed to a wheel chair, helping move a patient from the stretcher to the MRI table and so on). Yeah the job can be physically draining pushing beds and moving patients, but there’s never really a dull moment on the job itself as a healthcare professional.
I’m also currently in school finishing up my associates in science degree at community college where I am aiming to be a radiology x-ray tech; I just finished a 8 week class for this fall semester on anatomy and physiology and I was soooo close in making an “A” in that course but a “B” is still good given how difficult the class is with a lot of memorization. By late spring I’ll be able to apply to the radiology program at my college where I’m hoping all the success to get in and complete the 1-2 year clinical program.
So yeah not much going on except hey I’m currently sick with an ear and sinus infection and this is the third time I’ve gotten sick since starting my job at the hospital back in August. Not surprised as I’m in a high risk environment with various viruses and bacteria swarming around.
Hope everyone else who I’ve talked to before is doing well or those who are new here!
