Well, the doctor gave me something else for anxiety

I've always been an anxious person. I worry about worrying and then worry about that... lol

I have general anxiety and OCD. I don't remember if I've ever posted this, but my mind constantly races. It jumps from subject to subject and oftentimes thoughts talk over each other if that makes sense. This really affects my ability to focus and concentrate at work and school. I can't rest at night and can't concentrate during the day.

I have been on Clonazepam twice a day to help me to become stable regarding thoughts and attacks, but it didn't seem to help and I've been a bit depressed lately. I had a follow-up with my PCP on Thursday and I told her that I was still having the thoughts and actually took two Clonazepam at night and that it helped me sleep. She upped my Clonazepam and put me on 20MG of Lexapro to help with anxiety, mood, etc. I'm currently weaning off Trazodone so I'm not feeling the best.

Between the Lexapro and coming off of the Trazodone, I am feeling tired and jittery but from what I read, this is normal until I reach where I need to be dosage wise.

Has anyone else been on Lexapro? Did it help? How long did it take to take effect? (I've heard weeks for some, but days for others) I've read the warnings, but did anything bad happen to you?

Yes I have been on lexapro and the slightly molecularly different version cipralex. Since we don't use the branded names here anymore, I can't remember if lexapro is the newer, improved version but if it is, I personally had no issues with it and it was the anti-depressant that worked best for me for both anxiety and depression, then they changed the prescribing rules and put me back on the older version of the meds which takes a far higher dose to work with me and has more side effects. I hope you feel a bit better soon, anxiety is awful, worse than depression in my experience.

Thank you very much. I am still titrating up to my full dose, but so far so good. It seems to be working except for the fact that I feel really tired.

I've been on the generic version of Lexipro (Escitalopram) for a year now with good success. 10 mg daily but I'm only taking 5 mg as it seems to work fine. I have tried twice to ween off of it just to check if I still need it and apparently I do for my anxiety.

I am now up to 20 MG (day 2 of that dose) of the generic and have some jitteriness as well as periods of feeling really tired. All and all I feel good, just a little strange like I feel hot and cold at the same time, etc.

Just a quick update… I'm on day 7 of Lexapro (full dose). I feel better mentally but I'm extremely fatigued during the day. I called my doctor yesterday and I will start taking the medicine at night time to see if that helps to alleviate the daytime fatigue and tiredness.
