Neurodiversity - Online Conference

London University's Adult Students college, Birkbeck, hosts The Weekend University as part of its outreach to working adults. These monthly lectures, on a Sunday, are on themes in Psychology, and study credits are available. They're open to all at fairly moderate cost.

I know Birkbeck well, it's a great place, the actual building and related buildings are in Bloomsbury, specialising in adult learning. They run their own courses, and also work with a wide range of other organisations who rent their spaces, I taught face to face classes there for a long time, always loved to be there.

Some of the teaching rooms are in the former homes of Bloomsbury group notaries such as Virginia Woolf and Maynard Keynes, converted Georgian houses looking out on shady public garden squares. This offering is online of course, due to Covid and/or maybe they're widening their reach. This looks great, thanks for posting it.

I am not sure, I taught on therapy MA trainings. Birkbeck themselves run a range of trainings, then also lot of organisations rent their rooms too, so if there was such a training it may be run by a Christian organisation. Probably try googling it, but I expect you have? It sounds like something some of the cathedrals might host too, when we can get back to face to face events, maybe Durham, is that near you?

Today's is Science and Spirituality, but more from a holistic angle.
Anyone in London might want to talk to the team at St Marylebone.
From a more general angle, I note that many psychologists see little need to bring religion into it. Meditation, yes, because it's grounding. I mention it because it's a fundamental consideration of my modus operandi, but very much from a "many mansions" angle, so I talk of the numinous rather than God because the clearest text on my metamorphic experience is 10th Century Muslim. Likewise, "Blessed are the meek" is actually a saying of Lao Tzu, c200BCE

You'll also find there's a sizeable back catalogue.

In fact, we had a new concept to me land, neurotheology! Right up my creek, given my track record. Dr Andrew Newberg, technically handling what I'd already sussed, it's in the limbic system. I wonder whether animals meditate?
