update for phone

After the security update from Apple last week, my iPhone has new (not good) issues:

- gets hot during what used to be normal use,
- no longer snows up on iTunes when connected,
- no longer offers the option to connect via USB only wnen I’m using it as a hotspot,
- my mac laptop also gets hot when connected to the phone, though it never did that prior to the update.

Anyone know if there are fixes or more info. about these “downgrades-madking-as-updates?”

Thanks.

I noticed that my iPhone is a lot hotter too, after the update. I don't use it for anything except phone calls, text messages and to take photos so I don't know about the other issues you are having.

My only experience with Apple products is when I tried the apple tv app for streaming. Compared to other services it was profoundly buggy.

I know it's not terribly helpful now that you've already got the update.
But my general rule of thumb with updates for any OS is to wait several months for them to fix the problems they inevitably create. Even if they have news articles saying how imperative it is for you to update "now now now".

My only suggestion for now would be to roll back that update until they come up with something that causes fewer issues.
And just be aware of the security flaw that they were trying to fix, which I believe stemmed from a PDF file being able to infect your machine. So, just be wary of people sending you PDF files, especially if you don't know them.

Yes I usually do wait, sometimes for 6 months. This time I decided to chance it. :/

The local repair place had the proper battery available. $90.00 It’s behaving normally now with the new battery installed.

The good bit of info. which my repair person told me, was Apple isn’t going to kill off any phones for a few years. It that holds true, this phone with this battery will last until that point.
It extra good, because I paid it off a couple of years back. :)
