Unhealthy Sensory Safe Foods

Does anyone else have a bad problem with having unhealthy safe foods that they can eat? I'm seeing a dietitian today but I'm not sure how I'm going to approach her about my habits. I want to be more open about my diagnosis but every time I am it seems like I get brushed off for being considered high functioning.

Any advice on how to go about this so that I'm taken seriously? :(

What does "problem with having unhealthy safe foods that they can eat" mean?

I know what the words mean separately (problem, unhealthy, safe, foods).
But what is an "unhealthy safe food"?

That sounds like it would be something like eating only [for example] cucumbers
celery in order to avoid weight gain or carbohydrate overload. But what is the
situation?

I only eat fast food/highly processed food because it's sensory safe and I can't cook for myself at home. Since it's so unhealthy it causes me to gain weight and my doctor asked me if I wanted to see a dietitian about it so I said yes.

Fresh vegetables and fruits work for me. Not sure what your meaning either, but to take a guess, if you have a fussy stomach then maybe it could be the food temperature or, is it texture? Foods of certain textures I cannot eat and sometimes hot (not flavor but actual temperature) upsets my stomach.

Can you eat bananas or apples? Apples with peanut butter is a good selection and always bananas, no cooking involved.

Eating nothing but junk food and highly processed food may be the cause of both obesity and having digestive problems.

Just tell the dietician what you eat, why you eat it, and explore ways to eat a better diet.

Out of curiosity..What healthy foods do you have sensory issues with? Sometimes it's about how you prepare and season them that can help.

I love bananas and apples but they don't make a full meal unfortunately, at least for me they don't. They're wonderful snacks and I love to have them whenever I feel a little hungry.

It's not that my stomach is fussy, it's more like anything that's too crunchy or has a bad taste to me feels like chewing on shards of glass. I have terrible sensory issues when it comes to eating.
