Today I've been watching a load of vids with Tony Atwood talking on the topic of ASC and he is amazing.
I've never met the guy , never interacted with him and yet everything he said was as if he knew me very well. I am amazed, it was as if he could read my mind.

Clearly every thing he has described or talked about has happened to me. At last someone understands me. I feel validated :D

The only downside I think I've ever seen regarding him is that he "associated himself with the unproven writings of Maxine Aston and her "Cassandra Syndrome" - a made up condition designed to provide an excuse for a neurotypical woman unable to cope with a marriage to an autistic man while trying to be like him when she should not be."

I've been thinking the exact same thing for the past week, as I've watched several videos of him on YouTube lately. It's like he knows me better than my own mother, but he's never met me. It's a strange experience, highly unusual in my life, for anyone to really "get" me.

I told my husband the other day, one thing I really like about Attwood is how he seems to understand so well both the NT experience of interacting with aspies AND the inner-world experience of the aspie (not just the presentation of aspie characteristics, but the inner WHY of that presentation).

(And thinking about him, my inner voice is now saying "aspie" with his accent, lol.)
