The Story of My Life

I'm finally able to take a vacation week from work after 11 months when I couldn't (long story...), been looking forward to it, taking a break, just planning to stay mostly local here in Calgary... We've been in drought all summer with barely any rain, you're probably guessing already, lots of rain coming up this week which I know we need badly, but it's all set to spoil my week off at the same time... Trying to plan a brief road trip at some point this week, trying to figure out which weather forecast is right or wrong as I look at various ones out there... It all boils down to - I can't seem to catch a break anywhere in my life...

Reality check... I don't live in Florida or Houston, or in Mexico where a big earthquake happened, etc... But still frustrated, I'm not one to stay in the house too much, I generally get cabin fever and want to explore something, anything...

I think we all have some really bad timing or something... Or we expect the worst and it of course happens because we create the lives we live...

If that is fact I must enjoy torturing myself??? Anyway can you just jump a jet or a bus and surprise yourself.
I have done that a couple of times in my life... Very hard to do, but crap it was fun.

Also sometimes I just go to get gas... and then just drive anywhere. No plans just an escape.
I hope you find a way to enjoy your time off. : )

The weather's been terrible where I am in as well. Weeks of rain, overcast for weeks at a time, can't seem to plan anything. Wanted to do some camping this summer, haven't been able to, the mosquitoes are at an all time high.

Who wants to sit in a tent for weeks in the rain? Not me. So maybe just a road trip is about all we can handle or day trips hiking and or cycling. Not relying on the weather is something I find difficult and frustrating. Here, we wait six months for the sun to really return full force and be able to wear sandals and shorts. Not this year, virtually no warm weather, couldn't swim as it's been too cold, the lakes never really warmed up all that much. So maybe next year, sigh.

My problem is that I'm too results oriented, if I make it out of this week with few good photographic results I will be upset at myself... Day one wasn't that great, just went for a walk downtown, didn't get much...

Looks like... Wednesday to Friday, maybe even Saturday, rain! Rain probably starting even on Tuesday night... I think I've made an executive decision to hit the highways early on Tuesday morning, head east, see how much rain I can beat out... The best I can do, although it will feel really truncated and forced timewise... Then all the rain will basically ruin the rest of my long awaited vacation week... :(

Are you referring to night photography with this link? That's not something I get into much

No this is a weather watch system, that gives you fifteen minute forecasts. How much rain, sun, wind gusts, when and where. It's an application, and it's been very helpful. You can pull down the drop down menus and it gives lots of information.

What I'm seeing on EC...

Tomorrow: there will be rain, but not much of it.
Friday: 30% chance of showers, which means 70% chance of no showers.
Saturday: cloudy, but no rain forecast.

Of course, your upcoming weather is what I want. The searing heat needs to end.
