Hello my name is Annett ,I have been diagnosed with autisum since I was born now if I would be saying this out loud to the public (or pepole who do not have ASD) they would think that I am dum or have know empthy. The pepole of today think that we should be exterminated now I am not saying that all pepole with out ASD are like this many of them want to help. But many of them want us gone. They don't know why we act like this I I have one answer because that is who we are. All my life I have been made fun of because I am different or I don't talk very much. Share your experiences here.

I'm a self-diagnosed aspie currently awaiting diagnosis. All my life I never fit in and I didn't know why, I've never been able to socialise with people and have been bullied for being different. Even if some neurotypical's mean well, they can sometimes be incredibly patronising and treat autistic people like they're dumb or do not understand the world as well as they do. They can't be blamed for their ignorance but society needs to encourage acceptance of autism rather than just treating us as lessers. Especially non-verbal people being classed as "low-functioning autism" and treated as if they're stupid eventhough inside they are intelligent and perceptive. Neurotypical's just seem to label anything that they don't understand as bad or in need of fixing. We do not need to be fixed, this is who we are.

Sometimes(many) I don't understand how I feel, so it must be impossible for someone else to understand me. Like this afternoon I needed to lie down on bed in silence alone feeling low. No idea what was making me feel low but my partner came to me asking if I'm OK? I couldn't answer her as I didn't know myself.
