The one thing I wish I could change

I learned about AS shortly before my mother died, and suddenly understood both our lives. She didn't want to hear about it. She'd been avoiding any kind of diagnosis her whole life, If anyone trying to help me inquired about her parenting, there was never a next appointment.

The one thing I wish I could have changed about myself was the spontaneous panic attacks that started at age 13. This led to running out of classes to go home where I felt safe. This false feeling of security being at home led to agoraphobia.
Agoraphobia led to a life of not going places or doing things I wanted.
I was never able to be the "free bird" I longed to be.

And two hours later I'm out of the rabbit hole. I didn't even know it was a thing, I thought it was just me. So many reasons for it, all of them incredibly bad, but mostly from trauma.

The ANTs Eliminator Form is something to try and practice:

ANT:

ANT Type:

Is it true?

Is it 100% true?

How does it make you feel when you think this thought?

Counter Thought: How could you use this in a positive way?

Dr. Amen has a book where this comes from called How to Grow Strong Child Minds. Chapter 7 is all about ANTs and how you can overcome them, via the ANT Eliminator Form.
