The Brig Blue Bird of Hull

Heron

Maps inspire discoveries more truthful than reali…
Those young kids …
"The Ballad Of The Bluebird Of Hull"
Evert Taube; lyrics
It was the Blue Bird of Hull
Blue Bird was a brig
As with failing stumps stood on
Over the sun in a snowstorm with a ripened rig
The actual Christmas eve seventy two
"Surrender the Swede to a mess, he can turn a lever."
Shake the ship
- "Allright boys, loose by!"
And Karl Stranne from Smögen
Was turned to the rudder
At Blue Bird who was convicted of being wrecked
He got Hållö's glow
Stuck by snowflakes and splashes
He stood half blind
He got it in law
And in the middle of there lay Smögen
His home there his mother
Just got the letter from Middelsborough
"Well, what do you say Karl?"
"Is she ready?"
"No, Captain!"
"We're going to blow for this is the end."
- "We have Hållö about starboard and crime as soon as possible."
- "Out with the anchor boats out."
But she did not get up
And she got a couple of crimes
Who took the boat they had made clear
"I think so," Karl Stranne said, "My father has gone out."
"Emotion, I trust father!"
- "Boat in the league!"
- "Boat in a row!"
- "It's dad, it's us!"
"It's my dad from Smögen. Hello!"
- "Boat in a row!" he sang out
- "They are here jumpin, everyone we'll be salvaged then."
It was Stranne the older one
A viking and an eagle
Took his purified fiery wine
From the corner of the wine cabinet
To bid the shipwrecked on
"How was the name of the ship?"
He sped and beat
Nine suits in pointed glass
- "Briggen Blue bird."
The tenth glass he took
And he hit it against the floor
- "Did you say Blue Bird Captain? The Brig Blue Bird of Hull?"
"God in heaven, where is my son?"
"Where is the boy the captain for the sake of our savior?"
There was a death thirst among the men from here!
Gubben Stranne
Taken slowly south west out
- "Save the modern captain this evening."
- "Do not mention the name of the brig that has been in trouble."
- "Do not mention Blue Bird of Hull, are you nice?"
And the captain got up
He was gray he was thin
The storm barely heard his word
When he said with his own voice to his host
"Karl was wounded and forgotten on board."
