A book I enjoyed was Grasshopper Jungle, by Andrew Smith.
Stylistically it resembled the writing of Kurt Vonnegut.

After reading Grasshopper Jungle I read another by the same
author. 100 Sideways Miles.

Both books have main characters that are high school age boys.

My heart and other black holes- Jasmine Warga ; pretty similar to the fault in our stars

Perks of being a wallflower- Stephen chbosky
Before I fall- Lauren Oliver
I think they're all pretty similar to the fault in our stars etc. ^~^
