Sugar addiction and intolerance

Sugar is a very powerful and addictive substance. Its pretty hard to find big quantity in nature unless you exclusively eat raw sugar canes and honey. For the last 2 million years, your ancestor weren't eating much of it. But before winter, all the fruits and berries came out. They ate a lot of those and the sugar sent a powerful signal to the brain saying "eat tons of it now cause winter is coming." ... So its not a surprise why so many people are "addicted" to sugar today. For so long it was a way to generate some body fat before winter time or a season where the food was less available.

Today, the extra high availability of refined sugar, fruits and grains are definitely keeping people on a high. ;) Addiction to sugar isn't an aspie thing ... its a modern society thing.

Maybe you can try to reduce the amount of sugar you eat and cut processed food and see if it makes a difference for you. Just don't forget to compensate with another fuel type (fat, protein) just to make sure you don't run out of energy or lose muscle mass. :)

I'm eating about 150g of carb a day ... that's all ... and I feel great. :)
