I had no idea at the time I was autistic, just liked chatting with the reps. they liked chatting with me. I really influenced them and how their employers used my ideas.to improve their business.

For the same reason you wouldn't appreciate them expressing enthusiasm while you were attending a funeral for a loved one. Expressing enthusiasm at the right time and place is always welcome while expressing enthusiasm when it is inappropriate is frowned upon.why can't nt's appreciate our enthusiasm?
Most normal people I know get enthusiastic and are generally much happier than autistic people. If they experienced some of that they would be much happier people.
When we lived in Mexico, someone did make such a group. People attended. My husband loved it. They went out for lunch once a month and talked Science Physics etc.The only group I would form is fellow physics followers blown away how many like my physics thread. Was always too self conscious to join group Thinking other members would be university educated. So kept my interest to myself until I joined this forum.
