This man sang the funniest down to earth songs I've ever heard. As it says in the articles, he was never as popular as Jimmy Buffet or John Prine, or Kriss Kristoferson, but he made a living with his art, commentary and fun. This is the best article from the New York Times. It should get you past the paywall.
