Question what more intact social skills means

I remember Wikipedia said that people with PDD-NOS, like me have more intact social skills, but I wonder what that means, because I have trouble interpreting the context of some social cues.

"More intact social skills" seems pretty vague to me. Once I started on my path to greater social maturity, I applied myself as if it were a special interest. That helped, but I did not know at the time what specifically I lacked (in the '60s and '70s) though I knew that social communication escaped me, so I took what I was reading, observed people and started practicing little by little.g

It just means they are better when compared to most cases of autism, not in comparison to the general population.
