COLUMBUS -- A new program for young adults with autism is helping them transition from high school to the job market.
Everybody Works is a transition program that touches on everything from interviewing skills to money management and it happens on the campus of Ohio Dominican University.
The program, which runs the length of the school year, is run by Food for Good Thought, an organization that provides employment services for individuals with autism. It teaches young adults life skills like interviewing and money management. The students also work at a paid internship.
The program also is a sought-after field study for education students at ODU, so it serves a dual purpose.
“Everything that you as an adult would know how to do that they need help learning,” said Food For Good Thought Director Sarah Duplessis.
