Personality Disorders

Does anyone here have a personality disorder? I'm starting to wonder if I do. I did some research and some symptoms of personality disorders overlap with symptoms of autism. I guess I just feel my constant need for attention is out of the ordinary. I find myself subconsciously making things up just to get attention. Or maybe I'm just over-analyzing things. It's summer, college is out, can't get myself to work, maybe I just have too much time on my hands.

What do you think they'd diagnosis you as if you did have one?
Not sure. I took some online quizzes and I fit into multiple. There's this one diagnosis they give if you have a combination of all of them, called Personality Disorder Not Otherwise Specified.

If I have that I'd get to confuse people by saying "I have PDD-NOS and PD-NOS". Sorry, I've got to laugh about it.

Yes, that would be confusing!

You're right in saying that symptoms of personality disorders do overlap with autism. I bet you could misdiagnose a lot of us on this forum with schizoid personality disorder quite easily.

I think if you were to go to a doctor and say, "I think I have a personality disorder of some type" they'd meet that thought with the question, "How much of this could be explained away with the diagnosis of autism?" Schizoid could certainly be.

You do get a few people with autism who also have emotionally unstable personality disorder but I don't think that's more than the general population.
