Other folks with tactile sensitivity - can you recommend a gym shirt?

Hi

If you have tactile sensitivity...you know how hard it can be to shop for clothes. (I have aspergers)

I sort of manage regarding day to day apparel, took me years though to find the right brands and what I can stand against my body.

Now I started going to the gym, and I use my day to day cotton shirts to the gym. They retain sweat so not such a good solution, but all the standard gym t-shirts from polyester feel horrible, especially when I start sweating.

I also found that recommendations from people who don't have tactile sensitivity don't work from me - what they consider comfortable is absolutely horrendous for me :)

With that said - if you have recommendations, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks

i have the same problem with gym stuff.
i have very acute tactile sensitivity-i only wear my pad [nappy] and sports bra at my apartment when i can get away with it though my support staff have all been told to not allow me to do this as its 'inapropriate behavior' and 'unaceptable' so i have found a pair of soft lounge shorts that i wear over my pad,and it shuts the staff up.
i used to refuse to wear clothes outside to but id get frog marched with one staff on each side of me and dragged back in the house.

when i used to go to the gym i wore my soft jogging pants and a cotton shirt-my usual outside attire,i had no specific gym clothing as i cant get around the concept of changing into another set of clothing,i can only do it if i can get my mind around the concept-such as understanding i have to carry out my 'outside clothes to inside clothes' routine-the change distresses me and would trigger my so called 'challenging' behaviors if i was forcibly told to put another suit of clothing on.

have you thought of using a cotton vest without hanging labels on, coupled with some shorts in a material you can cope with?
could you cope with a basket ball vest/jersey?

I use a patagonia t-shirt. There are no sharp spots on it anywhere. The label is printed not sewn so no problems there either. I think it is a fine cotton blended with a synthetic, so the sweat disspates.

I can't even wear traditional t-shirts anymore. Just too sensitive in front below my neckline. So I wear henley t-shirts instead...usually unbuttoned.

I like those button-down hawaiian-style shirts that are thin. It feels like you're wearing nothing at all.
Welcome, by the way.

Hollister stuff is expensive but I can tolerate most stuff I just soak in fabric conditioner to soften it and by it to big.
