Of Ducks and Other Things

It always tickled me that a lot of fantasy fiction writers use the word Drake to mean some kind of dragon, what they're actually describing is a rather cantankerous duck.

Ah, that must be the wondrous dragon duck I saw. Just a drake.

These are statues of the ducks from the story on Boston Common. I used to sit on them when I was a child.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures, everyone! The only ducks I have seen lately were in the zoo. Nice to see ducks in the wild, if only in picture form!
 
Fun fact: You're not allowed to eat swans because they're owned by the Queen.

But... I don't know how the Queen's death effected this rule

Anyway, I love duckies. I always say that's my ideal first date... Going to the duck pond to feed the ducks
