New Song...Glass

Storm Hess

Permanent Spaceman
This will probably be the last of the slower material I've been writing of late... I've acquired some new tools that will now turn my music in a different direction.
This is about what I've been going through most of my life...let me know if you can relate in any way.

Lyrics by Storm Hess 2024

[Verse]
Where did it all go wrong,
you crying on the phone
Wish you were at home,
take my things and leave

[Verse 2]
Can’t make no sense of it,
I’ve tried to give a ----
The heart is where I hit,
Forgive my reprieve

[Chorus]
Wish I could find the man I was
Lost when I wake up
What I’ve become…
Blurred glass and makeup

[Bridge]
My summer’s falling, the leaves are calling
yet you stayed with me
The skies are burning, the cold’s enthralling
Are you calling to me

[Verse 3]
I walk with blinders on,
can’t seem to get no relief
Always glass to step on,
And a monster beneath

[Verse 4]
I’m hiding away,
from the monster I see
I would not blame you,
If you would leave

[Chorus]
Wish I could find the man I was
Lost when I wake up
What I’ve become…
Blurred glass and makeup
Wish I could find the man I was
Lost when I wake up
What I’ve become…
Broken glass and makeup

[Ending]
Something else is always there
If I froze would you care
Always seem to stop and stare
at nothing at all,
nothing at...

Good song, I like the music and timing, it has a good sound to it too. I don’t know enough about music terminology and structure to explain what I like about it, but there’s a lot. Thank you for sharing this!

First impressions on my crappy laptop at work is that it sounds great. I'm sure the speaker is not giving it the proper justice but it still sounds good. Like something I'd hear on an alt-rock radio station.

Now I'm curious what you picked up tools wise to help you with your music.

I like “Touch the Unknown” song a lot too, makes me want to paint something!

Let me know if you ever do a vinyl record release, I’ll buy a copy.

I think your songwriting is awesome, but for the life of me I still don't really like AI vocals and I'm not sure why. My go-to phrase on musical forums is "maybe it's because I'm autistic", but since we're here for a reason I just might be an odd person looking too deeply for the soul in the machine, so to speak.

(Also I got behind on DMs for a while so my apologies there!)

This sounds interesting. Mind sharing what those are? :D I use a host of unconventional songwriting tools and rigs, and always enjoy hearing about the creative process!

Thank you.

Nemesis drums (drum plugin), The God Particle (helps with mixing), STL Tonality Josh Middleton amp for Odin 3 and live guitars, Oblivion and Gravity 2 from Heavyocity on Native Instruments for synth noises, pads and textures, along with Serum synth plugin.

Please list what you use! I really the different textures you use!

Thank you.

I don't care for the AI vocals either, but unfortunately, I have nowhere to record vocals...otherwise it would be my voice on these songs. Can't afford to travel to a recording space, let alone get a block of recording time. Been brainstorming portable soundproofed isolation booth designs. Probably cost a few hundred pounds, but it maybe worth it.

Your feedback is very helpful, so thank you for posting it. 👍

This sounds like my last "whatever it truly was" r*e*l*a*t*i*o*n*s*h*i*p". The person was emotionally very very unavailable.
