My crafting

Does making costumes count as visual art? *I cosplay.
Today’s been pretty productive as I’ve been building some things out of EVA foam and foam clay for two video game characters *Serana from Skyrim and upgrading Morrigan From Dragon Age. I have many elements to still do, so it’s really 15% progress but when I’m doing ok, I have motivation to be productive in this and after a year in 2020 (and to be fair it was a difficult time anyway) when I did nothing because of how bad my mental health was, I’m happy that any time I spent with this hobby currently is a victory.

I admire people who can make crafts like that, all I can do is draw and paint lol.
I’ve tried sculpting with clay and it was a disaster.

Oh wow, that’s really awesome. What materials did you use? It looks like matte *but I’m not sure if that’s the right word. Really like the last one as it reminds me of a waterfall.the middle one is also nice, reminds me of a valley that’s near the mountains where I live when it has snow.

I haven’t really been able to continue crafting on my other projects because I caught covid so I’m currently recovering, but I had the opportunity to redesign my Hercules armor that I plan on making a start on it in April (I have 3 weeks off to do this). Still debating whether to include a helmet or not (might do it actually and have the plume blue like pegasus’ tail and mane) but in addition to trying to keep the original elements from the movie, I wanted to add fur and combine the mythology to the Disney film as I also love Greek mythology. I am a history nerd. After all, in the film he is shown having his portrait taken with a lion fur on him

I haven’t posted anything on this thread for a while…and I guess I’d like to share a few things that I am currently working on or have finished.

The first picture is fully completed and is from a book by one of my favorite authors. I made the scale mail for foam. Shoulder guards are also made from foam. I also tried to improve my sewing, so its getting better.=D

I am also finally working on an armor design for Hercules (Disney) and I did the arm guards. The little Pegasus heads are my favorite things on this. =D

As I have mentioned before, working in my workshop is something that gives me purpose and makes me happy. Making things like this, really helps me to get out of my depression moments.
