My Autism Test Is Done, And Now I Wait..

AuBurney Tuckerson

~GigglesTheAutisticHyena~
So I had my autism test Friday, and we filled out some papers. I took papers home for my mother to fill out and brought them back today. During the test on Friday, the psychiatrist said it'll be about a month or so before he calls back for follow-up. Hopefully, I get my result then.. Hopefully, I'm not misdiagnosed. There has to be a reason why I am the way I am, especially with my sensitive hearing, smell, touch, sight, and taste. I know it sounds stupid, saying that I hope I'm described as autistic, but if you understand, that'll only make me hate myself less than I do now. If I'm autistic, then I know why I can't do what everyone expects me to do, why I can't do anything right, why I can't understand adult stuff like finance, bills, and investments, and why I'm suffering from sensitive hearing. If I'm not autistic, then maybe I was born a defect?

Good luck getting the results! If not ASD I'm sure there is another explanation for your symptoms, I doubt you were born a defect.

Thanks. My mother tried to get me diagnosed growing up, but now I'm funally awaiting my diagnosis. When my mother mentioned autism, I decided to look it up and found that she may be right. I didn't learn what autism was until I was 18. Until then, I thought I was a defective loser cursed with sensitive hearing (and still do), but when I found autism, I thought maybe I could just be autistic and not the mistake I think I am. So hopefully, he finds that I am autistic, and maybe everything I struggled with in life would finally be explained to me.

All the best to you at this time. Hope whatever results you get it'll give you the answers you want.

Waiting is hard. And I think we all understand why you want the diagnosis - it'll help you accept yourself better. Keep us posted.

Hey there, AuBurney Tuckerson. I hope your tests result in you discovering the source of the pieces that frustrate you most. Do you know? Will you be able to have several sessions with the doctor? You may find it beneficial to sort some stuff out thru discussing things with the doctor. There may be pieces that you don’t see or completely understand yet. I sure do wish you the best in your quest. Best and kind regards.
