More diversity in Power Rangers?

I was wondering, does anyone think Power Rangers should have more diversity? If anyone saw the movie, there was the Aspie Blue Ranger and the LGBT Yellow Ranger.

I think in addition to lifestyles and race, I think they should also branch out into more themes and color-gender combos. One of my ideas is known as Power Rangers Fairy Magic, where each Ranger would be a fairy represented by a different element. Here is my team:

Christopher Scott - Pink Fairy Ranger - Male, White - Air
Percy Smith - Red Fairy Ranger - Male, White - Fire
Michael Dawson - Blue Fairy Ranger - Male, Black - Ice
Evelyn Rodriguez - Green Fairy Ranger - Female, Hispanic (Mexican) - Earth
Cindy Combs - Yellow Fairy Ranger - Female, White - Lightning
Stella Jones - Purple Fairy Ranger - Female, White - Spirit

Christopher would be the leader, Percy would be the muscle, Michael would be the cool guy, Evelyn would be the beauty, Cindy would be the tomboy, and Stella would be the Goth. Christopher would be in a relationship with Evelyn and would get married at the end of the series.

What gives this team a bit of its diversity is that the Pink Ranger is male and the Green Ranger is female, plus the personalities of each Ranger. In addition, fairies is a theme that hasn't really been done before in Power Rangers.

What does anyone think of adding more diversity in Power Rangers beyond race and lifestyle?

I know nothing of the Power Rangers but love the idea of a male being pink. Enough sticking that color on women. It's a nice enough color and everything, but do we really need to equate pink and girl? It's a color and nothing more. And it does appear to be your favorite. Green is one of my favorite colors so I like the idea of a female character being green.

Yes, plus it used to be considered a manly colour.

They're still making Power Rangers? Eh? It's not the late 80's/early 90's any more, no one over 14 cares.

Then again, I did fancy the original Pink and Yellow Rangers, Kimberly and Trinu.
