UK forum users listen up! What was your favourite childhood stop-motion show that you realised had puppets made by the puppet making studio Mackinnon & Saunders? To give you a brief demonstration of what Mackinnon & Saunders is like, here are links to their websites:

Whether you like the then-new Andy Pandy series or a big Scream Street or Strange Hill High fanatic, these are the sorts of charming, wholesome shows that you can come back to anytime!

I did look at the material in the links.

A couple things I recognized as having seen around,
but not anything that had ever been a favorite of mine.

I didn't say I didn't remember any.
I said I didn't see anything that had ever been a favorite of mine.

For instance, I recall seeing this:

It's from Corpse Bride.

That doesn't mean I have watched the movie, or that
this is a favorite of mine.

You should watch Corpse Bride then! Its animation style is so...er...stylish!

You have to consider that it's more likely for Britons to be more aware of American entertainment than the reciprocal. Despite technology that has brought all kinds of programming from Britain that many of us have never even heard of.

Yet many of us here tend to agree that British forms of entertainment are often superior to that of the United States. Go figure. I'm just glad we do have much more in the way of British entertainment with the advent of streaming media. Though it may be some time before us colonials catch up. ;)

Yet some of us are fluent in Monty Python and have the silly walks to prove it! And many of us are intimately familiar with all the characters of Portwenn in Cornwall. And their beloved Doc Martin himself. And of course we have a lot of "Doctor Who" fans as well. ("My other car is a Tardis.") :p

And there's still those four lads from Liverpool, who IMO occupy the very top of the entertainment pyramid.

Mackinnon & Saunders? I might have thought it was a competitor to Fortnum & Mason....lol.

Corpse Bride? Good point. Tim Burton's creative and macabre style always stands out in both animated and non-animated features.

Well, BBC iPlayer is all over the place now, and to make things worse, Scream Street and Strange Hill High are only on there and they have never aired on TV once last year and this year.

That's an issue we have as well. All these entertainment entities that are really responsible for just a handful of corporate giants who control limiting all the really good programming now to mostly streaming media you have to pay for.

I jumped into streaming media through Roku a little more than two years ago, and still have yet to subscribe to any of them on a pay basis. Though it would be nice to have Paramount, Disney, Acorn and some others...but I still have to pay $50 for cable I hardly even watch anymore.

The best bet for me is on occasion when Pluto (CBS/Paramount) offers free programming for limited runs. Though I also suspect we'll never see them aired through regular cable...at least not for years to come.

I'd go broke if I chose to pay for all these streaming media options out there. Nice...but I always watch my expenses. Even then, I'm happy to see so much programming out there without a price tag.
