Machinery

Machines = Art for Aspies ;)

For me, a lot of the enjoyment in "machines" has to do with recognizing the engineering mastery that goes into designing something, often from scratch, having the vision to do that, building it to perfection, to the point that it becomes something more than the sum of it's parts. Watches. Electronics. Aircraft. Automobiles. Firearms. Manufacturing technology. You name it, it's all impressive. I also get a lot of enjoyment out of older technology, such as classic sports cars, old timepieces, etc. It's something to do with the fact that people, even without some of the more advanced technology now available, having built machines to absolute perfection to the point of them becoming timeless art. Case and point: the SR-71 Blackbird. Built in the 50's. Was the first of its kind in many ways. In service for 32 years. To date, still the fastest known manned aircraft. And it looks plain awesome! lol
