The songwriter JERRY HERMAN died as real days ago at 88. He was the writer of the vastly successful Broadway musical. " HELLO, DOLLY! "...and, therefore, scored a #1 Hot 100 BILLBOARD " regular " pop hit as a songwriter right in the middle of
American Beatlemania and the Motown sound breaking with Louis Armstrong's classic version of the musical's title song! Both the Armstrong album titled after his hit and the Carol Channing-etcetera/featuring Original Cast LP of the. musical reached #1 on the Billboard Top LP charts in 1964, too:grinning:!
Other musicals written by HERMAN included " LA CAGE AUX FALLES " (:neutral:SP??) and " MAME ", the latter of which was made into a movie, just aHemli, DOLLY was! And both are favorites of mine!:innocent:

Liked both Mame and La Cage aux folles, was not as much taken with Hello Dolly. I'm a fan of musicals as well SteveNomad.

I hope all is going better?
