IPFire, anyone?

I was toying around with the idea of buying a hardware firewall off of eBay, but then I thought, I have an older laptop; why don't I just use that?

I'd have to buy an extra Ethernet card to slip into the PCI express slot, which I presume I could get for extra cheap but I'm unsure if IPFire would be able to recognize it.

Has anyone else had any experience with this sort of thing? Tips, suggestions...or should I just go ahead and get a Watchguard off of eBay?
