"What's old is new again!"

Anybody feel that the years from 2011 to 2015 can be augmented to the year 2016 - years which seemed simpler than 2026?
 
I read the article posted and remember a lot of the things listed but that particular year doesn't have any particular meaning to me. When I think of things being simpler, I think back to the 70's and 80's.
Certain trends that began in the 1990's made life seem more complicated. That's probably just me personally, but there were changes starting around that time universally.
By the year 2020, I saw things trending I definitely didn't like.
 
honestly a significant chunk of modern nostalgia for the past (and the perception that [CURRENT YEAR] is the worst year EVER!!!!) is pretty much just from teenagers online who either literally were not alive for the years they romanticize as 'the golden era!!!' or were literally children and only talk about how much better THEIR childhood was now compared to today.

like i remember back in 2016 the internet was full of people going on and on about how 2016 was the worst year ever and waxing nostalgic for the past and nowadays you have teens online going on and on about how 2016 was the last good year or whatever.

it's honestly really annoying lmao.

Anybody consider when plain-old cell-phones 'dumbphones' where common - before 2006?

There has been that growing interest in dumbphones lately - alternatives to the complex smrtphones.
 
I've held onto my 'dumbphones' all along. Still have one.
Never have owned a smartphone. Don't need it. I like the simple kind of life.
 
This interest in the year 2016 is going beyond the youth years. Adults now in their mid to late 30s were young adults in their mid to late 20s - that is in 2016, these young audlts were not yet confronting the full challenges of adulthood.
