Image Copy/Paste to this site only not working

You know, that one lady we met that one time.

I've been playing the forum games, and more and more I find that I can't copy/paste or drag images into the reply box.

Instead what appears is the text link to the image. I've tried multiple ways to post.

In other websites, like facebook, in emails, in texts, or in private message apps, I can copy paste images. But just here, on Autismforums, for the past few days, I have not been able to post any images.

Help?

Hi @Yeshuasdaughter, that's weird. I can appear to copy and paste an image from another website into here.

Can you provide any more information about how you're doing it?

Let's say I'm on A to Z places, and I want to post a photo of Jackpot, Nevada.

I do a Duck Duck Go image search and try to copy one of the photos and paste it into the reply box in my forums tab. All that shows is a text link to the photo.

I've also tried dragging a photo from one tab to another, and when I release it in the box, once again, all that shows up is a text link to that image on duck duck go.

image copy and paste working for me. 1) have you tried restarting your computer? Not trying to be a dink with that question, a lot of people forget to try that. 2) maybe try reloading the site, clear out your browser cache first. That way if something mucked up in the background it'll basically do a digital reset. Hope you get it working.

Take a look at what format the images you're trying to use are. This site accepts .JPG and .PNG formats but not .WEBP.

More and more sites are using the .webp format these days simply because it makes it more difficult for third parties to use their images, although that never stops someone with a little bit of experience.

Providing specific URLs of images the OP wanted to post here may well help solve such a problem.

Another thing one must consider these days is who and where you are attempting to link an image from. I know that *some* online image banks are beginning to use more sophisticated methods of keeping persons from being able to link their images to other URLs.

Mainly because of an increase in generative AI programs more efficiently- and indiscriminately scouring the web, indifferent to considerations of intellectual property rights and bandwidth concerns.

Though as @Outdated pointed out, there are technical ways one can get around such things for more advanced users.

AI that is ignorant of the law....lol. That figures.
