I'm not a romantic... Hah!

Was visiting tonight with my friend who is in the hospital (mental health ward)

A few years ago we "almost" dated, at least that's the way I saw it at the time, after a few bumps along the road we are now friends still, and just friends, nothing wrong with that

She just brought it up almost naturally in conversation, I may have mentioned something about "not being a romantic" and she pretty much agreed with me, basically saying that we still have a great friendship

It almost feels liberating that she said that, because sometimes I have beat myself over why it never worked it romantically between the two of us, but we can still do some things together

And I think I've said it before on here, but I can be quite happy single

Don't look at it as living the single life; look at it as being the owner/operator of your life.

It seems like you're using "not being a romantic" as not being interested in romantic relationships but it means more along the lines of not being the type to engage in sappy romantic acts.

A little of both perhaps

Two of my good friends when they manage to get together randomly, often talk shifts to the women they love/have loved (both are single), and I find myself "caught" in the middle, almost not knowing what to say... Conversation can get intense with them

Be happy with yourself. That is all that really counts. I've lost count of the people who are never satisfied when they seek external validation.
