Hi! I"m new to AutismForums. Looking for online support groups for my 56 year-old daughter recently self-diagnosed as high-masking autistic.
Hi, welcome

I guess this can happen too, i'm Autist. .. Is your daughter suffering from a disease since she is 56 years old? I'm 39 soon.

Also you are a good Mom. ... The Government may be able to help you. We here at AF talk about autism. We might be able to find our (your daughters and mine) Identity and join the world here.

Hello and welcome, @Lynn Caroll. If your daughter feels like joining, I imagine she will find a lot of folks who understand her experiences in the world.
Yes.

People here may be very kind.

In my understanding i'm Negativist also iNtuitive (N type in MBTI), and work Hard on the couch, so i struggel understanding them. They are just so Positive and sweet.

Thanks for the replies. My daughter never seemed to have any problems my husband or I could see when she was growing up. She always seemed so happy and successful without even trying. I still can't see it, but it's her experience that matters. She's living in France, which is very much behind the times on things like autism and she doesn't want the stigma that exists there to effect her two children so she really doesn't feel able to get the French medical system involved. If she could just final some support groups online I think the would help her a lot, but I'm having an extremely difficult time finding anything. This is the first success I've had getting any kind of response from anyone. I'm old and I have no idea how anything on this site works, but hopefully she can figure it out. Any other websites like this that anyone could recommend would be also be appreciated, especially those that are for high-masking women, ideally over 50.

Many of us are used to "masking," and at times we can be very successful with certain types of categories, but just remember that when an autistic person looks our best is when we are struggling the most.
