Hi, new member, NT, joined because I’m having problems with one of my brothers with ASD Level 1 (aka Asperger’s).

I am close to all my family, closest friend is the fourth oldest brother we are both Aspies, He has no friends, never has since childhood, became reclusive first when our mother passed away from a stroke, He retired long before i did
figured out how the stock market works to his benefit, became independently wealthy. Then Lost our father, and a few years later the oldest brother who along with being on the spectrum also had mental health issues. After I retired I had a stroke my brother visited me in the hospital, after learning to walk again, I made a point of visiting everyone.
worried we would fall apart as a family as my older brother had passed only a few months earlier. Being an extra verted Aspie, I really enjoy visiting my siblings, we all have a lot in common. science geeks, None visited the one brother, All of a sudden a few months ago he started attending family functions. I guess something changed. Even my son called him asking for investing advice. He Emailed my son, when my grand daughter was born, told him teach her more than one language as his wife is multilingual as are his kids now. Three of us have grand kids now, I guess he realizes what he is missing.

My wife's family are NT's so I can use them as control's as both her parents have passed. They no longer get together
for things like Christmas.

That’s a real possibility. When Dan was given his (late) diagnosis, he had been fired multiple times by large corporations. He was told that he should NEVER again take a position that required supervision of people. Dan then switched careers to higher-ed teaching, but that’s not going well either.
Robert Oppenheimer was most likely on the spectrum. supervised the Manhattan project Us Aspies relate well to each other, capable of supervising each other. My sisters husband husband I suspect is on the spectrum, He is an engineer was executive partner prior to retirement.
