Hi, Hello I'm new to this entire thing. I came here after several different people in my life asked me if I was autistic and after a lot of research and videos, I feel like I might be? I did pretty well in school academically wise but I really struggled with the whole socializing aspect and still do. I get pretty overwhelmed in large groups and essentially go mute, along with other signs that made me question myself. I plan to eventually get assessed, once I either save up or can get insurance that will help cover the cost. But for now I'm going by self-diagnosed, not sure how okay that is?

Hello. Did you try online tests for autism? Some of them are rather accurate.
I have social and general anxiety, so socializing aspect is very hard to me as well very often, and I do have some sensitivities, but except for that I do not fit other ASD criteria. I also lived through some traumas which may have added me some what people would call "autistic traits," but other than that nope.
I passed many autistic tests and all of them told me I am not autistic. Yet autistic people I know who passed the test all got the positive "you're asd" results.

So maybe you should check out those online tests for starters.
