Hi, I figured out that I was an Aspie yesterday, after watching a youtube playthrough of the game To The Moon. I found myself relating to one of the characters, and later discovered that her condition was Aspergers. I went through symptom lists, particularly the ones on Rudy Simone's website, and I matched up like 95% to them all. So yar, it makes a lot of things in my past make a lot of sense now...

But anyways. I thought it would be beneficial to try talking with some of you all. :)

Hi and welcome to AC. Its a great place, enjoy your stay.

I would highly recommend that you should get a professional to diagnose if you have Aspergers because they're more likely to know a lot more about the condition. However, if you feel that the diagnosis was lacking I would recommend researching about Aspergers and looking more into it.

Welcome :)

I hadn't heard of that game before. I'll have to check it out. You'll find our members are quite friendly here, so I hope you feel right at home, and are able to find other relatable characters here.

Have you read Rudy Simmone's book Aspergirls yet? I highly recommend it. Feel free to check out our resources section, for more books (Dr.Tony Attwood is a good starring place): Resources | AspiesCentral.comr

I still have to pick it up (and I'm quite upset with myself for taking this long to buy it), but To the Moon was made by a talented independent developer whose free titles I've played and enjoyed in the past. I have no doubt it's good---I just wish I could go back in time to its release so I would be unspoiled for content. :openmouth:

Enjoy your time here, Charlotte!

Hello Charlotte
Welcome to our home. I figured out what I had about two years ago by accident. My whole life suddenly clicked and everything made sense. I did not get an official diagnosis because It would not achieve anything for me. I know what I have now and I am fine with it.
I hope your time here is happy and informative, and that you visit often. Nice to hear fro you.

It was a really amazing game. The story is superb, and I cried a few times throughout. And the pixel work is some of the best I've ever seen in a game.

I actually read Rudy Simmone's, '22Things a Woman with Asperger Syndrome Wants Her Partner To Know', because I have a new boyfriend and I wanted to see if that book would be helpful for him understanding me. And I felt like it is going to be a great read for him. He is an amazing person, and promised to read it on his plane trip home tonight.

I downloaded Aspergirls this morning, so that was next on my list. And I will be sure to check out the resources section when I have the time.

I feel that way right now. So many things are starting to make sense to me, and it is a bit of a relief.

I should ask my boyfriend to read that book---though he probably doesn't need to at this point. He understands me and appreciates me more than I could have ever hoped for.

Welcome to AC, Charlotte. Yeah, it's a weird process to study all the possible traits and behaviors of ASD and apply them to one's own life. It was a little denial and revelation for me at first. And it's still a continuing discovery as learn things here as well.

So.....are you familiar with the character Bella Swan-Cullen ? Now there's an Aspie! ;)
