My name is Luke, and I was diagnosed a few years ago. I am 27. I think electronics, computers, and programming are pretty cool.
Pretty much, my biggest struggle with ASD, is figuring out what is just in my head versus what is a legitimate difference.

Anyway, thank you for having me!

I already said hi on your other post, because I saw that first. But still ...
.
Hello again and welcome to the forums :)

Welcome to the forums. I was fascinated by what made things work from the time I was 5 or 6. I was an EE major for three years before I became bored and moved out into the world. I slowly worked my way up through the ranks, so to speak. I started out as an assembler on low tech equipment to support higher end results. That was for a short few months until they realized I had a much wider skill set. I then moved up to being a bench tech, testing and repairing circuit boards. From there I moved into a somewhat hybrid position, where creating firmware for instrumentation became a part of the job. That led to full time programming positions and I finished my working career as a programmer/analyst.

I think the path I traveled was facilitated by being at the right place at the right time with the right skill set. I am not certain I would have the same luck now, as there are fewer jobs available and the competition is more intense. Pursuit of my interests was first and foremost in my success.

Great to have you here.
