Had to flee home after 1 foot of snow fell in 5 days

They had a slip, but they could only take the boat out when the tide was in. My father grew up on one of the islands in WA state. l learned how to hunt for crabs down at the shore with my pail. WA is a beautiful state. l do miss that state. More rain. Ellensburg WA had snow, but it was cute *snow*, nothing severe when l lived there.

Oregano, I'm glad you are okay.

Weather depends on what you are used to, what your location usually does. I've lived placed where several feet of snow is nothing and I knew how to handle it because I was used to it. But in Washington DC, an inch of snow closes the schools.

You did what you thought was right in terms of safety. I think you made a good choice.
