I would love to see what the majority is because you can learn a lot of things from different people. I thought this would be fun to participate in and learn something interesting.

Born 1996, so I'm at the very end of millennials. One of those cuspers born during the end of one generation and the start of the next.

100% Gen Z, 1998ish, grew up socializing with the Silent Generation & Greatest Generation.


Fully aware my profile has a different year 1997, but that's to confuse trolls/stave off identity theft. Identity thieves are suckers; never give a sucker an even break.

There was a small mini-generation between boomers and Gen X. It was called the 'Me Generation' We were in our teens/20s in the 1970s.

The film 'Dazed and Confused' might capture some of its ethos. Its about kids graduating High School in 1976.

I graduated High School in 1976 surfer and skater dude space cadet, 1st Class.

This is just a generic picture of Long Beach, New York where we al learned. The water is that color. We assumed in part due to New York city dumping its garbage just offshore. Sometimes sludge balls came in with storms or unusually high tides. I didn't realize water could actually be blue until I started traveling.

Is that the same as the Jones Generation? Wasn't that late boomer early genx?

They both seem to indicate the same generation and I guess it depends on what you heard when. We heard the term 'Me Generation' in the 70's and perhaps the 'Jones' term came later. The wiki description on the Jones Generation is a lot more detailed and on point. One salient point I would make, is we did not identify with our older boomer siblings/friends, etc, nor have the same view about things. Another is others have pointed out that older generations often consider the young generation 'Me' oriented, and the term has also been used for millenials.

Millennial here, born at the tail end of 1986, child of the 90s, hormonal teen of the 2000s. I don't agree with nor fit all of the stereotypes you'll hear about millennials, so if you think it applies you could be wrong. No, avocado toast isn't a staple of my diet.

I also have an appreciation for both the past and present - I carry a smartphone and had the privilege of using a rotary phone. Think I'll shut up for now so I don't get carried away

Don't feel too bad. We had to deal with Avacado toasters and stoves and fridges.... Every generation has its Avacado burden to bear.
