explaining and helping

Knowing I have aspergers (just before I turned 30). Was helpful as it explained some things and I was very lucky I could access the help that I did. In some ways I feel sometimes I missed out on enjoying high School and college more, like the social sides. outwith the autism centre drop in, I could socialise but would find it tricky sometimes.

I didn't have the desire to socialize in high school or college, so it didn't bother me.

But, now that I am a seniour citizen, I wish I could be with others and feel more at ease.
I get lonely now and wish for something like an Autism drop in place. Nothing like that in my area.

I would move into a seniour living facility if I had the resources. I think I could associate better
there than just renting three rooms in a big house.

I had a similar feeling when I was diagnosed at 56. It explained so much and I wish I had known earlier.
LOL! In the 60s and 70s and 80s when it would have done me the most good, the diagnosis hardly existed. I was thought just a stupid person.

Now is probably not the best time to move into a facility. It is not good for your health. Maybe there's a senior center near you to hang out at once this COVID nonsense is over.
