Etymology

I have an obsession with word origins.

For example:

The original Spanish word for dog was "can", a corruption of the Latin "canis". Eventually, they switched to "perro", a word of unknown origin but thought to have originated from a dog call. "Can" is now apparently used as a slang term for "trigger".
