Employable Me is a TV series here in the UK that started last year and it's coming to the United States! They're looking for people with neurodiverse conditions like autism, Tourette's who have finding it difficult to find employment to take part.

If that fits you then feel free to reach out to them for the US version on this email address [email protected]

Employable Me is set to return to TVs in the United Kingdom too this year. I believe they have filled the casting roles for this year. EDIT: Employable Me 2 are looking for people! Information for the UK version in the image below.

Meh, if this was in the UK I'd sign up in a pinch! I've been trying for years but outside the voluntary sector I can't get a job!

Equal opportunities my arse! They just say that because they legally have to, they don't adhere to it.

No they don't! They have plenty of ways to turn down applicants who declare their conditions. All they've got to do is give a different reason and keep tight lipped about it.

I would also like to consider going on the programme. Not sure if I was I would probably pull out at the last moment or never get around to declaring interest in it. The latter more likely. I'd also have to be in a good position physically and mentally to get employment and I'm quite there yet. Maybe some time in the future if I still can't get anything.

Our very own @Aeolienne was on that show: what you see is not what really happens; that's show business.

In her own words:

Are you photogenic?

Ah, yes, agency work. That was my first and only job about five years ago. I worked at a noisy and hot factory laundrette. It wasn't a nice place to work. I didn't have to move away for that but if I did that would have really stressed me out for only a temporary job.
