Hi, my name is Jade. I'm 27 and recently found out that I am autistic through self discovery. I enjoy Spongebob, casual video games, weight lifting, reading, and cooking/baking. I'm happy to have found this forum and I am hoping to be able to make friends and just meet more people like myself or that at least can be understanding and non-judgemental.

Hello & welcome @SeeAnemone!

Heya, very cool tunnels, how much time did it take to get them to that point? :)
At one point I started thinking that I may be autistic as well, but with time, therapist and self-discovery I understood that my "autistic traits" are the same traits people survived abuse and living with social anxiety have. So... who knows, maybe you aren't autistic, but stick to the website either way, a lot of cool folks here (mostly lol)

Thanks so much! I actually streched my ears as a pre-teen from a regular piercing to 1/2" in a couple of months (wasn't a very good idea lol) but now they're so old they kind of just stretch from taking the plugs out to clean them so I can size up whenever. Yes, it is extremely hard to tell exactly what is going on with someone especially with trauma and abuse in their background. Audhd just seems to be the thing that fits and when I accommodate myself as such it helps significantly. I'm on a fairly long waitlist to be seen for offical diagnosis so I figured I'd go ahead and start getting out there instead of waiting for over a year

Oooof. Fellow Canuck here. I can see how that would be hard on your sensibilities between the heat and the cultural differences. Condolences.
I like both when I have energy. Often my ASD stuff is ignored as a cultural difference. It’s the ex pat community more. It’s like living in a really big small town sometimes- normative behavior is more important for them. American heavy also- not MAGA folks fortunately (am I allowed to say that here? They aren’t the exactly ASD friendly) but that’s actually a harder difference. Good people in either case just not like home. More to try to learn.
