I could not find how to post other than reply, so here goes;
Hi, I'm a 32 year old Audhd person from Scandinavia. I was diagnosed with ADHD 5 years ago with Autistic traits, how ever I rellate more to the Autistic side and is currently fighting for a diagnosis. I think I've known since I was a kid and was not surprised to be diagnosed, how ever I had wished for more Autistic focus in the assessment.

I'd say that I have a big interest for nature, a huge love for the visual and design and storytelling. Currently suffering from a huge burnout from lack of support so I might not always be fast at replying and checking in. I hope to find mutual minds here for fun, support and comunity. Thanks for having me :)

Five fast facts:
- I have a big plushie collection
- I like to cook good food
- I like to go to the gym
- I am good at costructing things
- I enjoy observing insects.

Insects! I just replied to another thread of a person interested in insects. I lead a team on a local stream to collect and sample the macroinvertebrates (usually insect larvae, though last Saturday I got a Planaria, so rare in our rivers). We ID them to Families and calculate a score that is a measure of the stream's health. I find doing the work to be fun and stimulating. I have created self-calculating spreadsheets where you enter the number of critters in each family you found and it does the rest. I am going to add a Chi-squared test which will detect any shift in taxa sensiivity from one collection event compared to the long term mean.

Forgot to say, I have varied interests:
- I like Natural History,
- Geology and Paleontology,
- Other Cultures,
- Trilobites
Those interests have led me to places around the world, as well as working a year in places like Zagreb, Croatia, and seeing magnificent sights, like the Synchronized fireflies of Salangor, Malaysia. We hired a local boatman to ferry us up one side of the river and back downstream on the other side, along the black mangroves where each mangrove is flashing all at once, and I am still puzzled why there were waves of light and dark moving downstream. Now I am amassing a collection of at least one Genus in each trilobite Family from the Ordovician and Devonian of Morocco. A young fossil preparator from Alnif has been helping me. I learned to trust myself and be open to imperfection, and to be brave in embracing change, in an incident or two being an agent of change. Sure I made mistakes, missing a flight when I confused the French words for open and closed in Marrakech, I called my travel insurance company and they rebooked my flights and a overnight hotel at my transfer point. They had good people who were looking out for me and I am happy with their competence (it may seem pricy at times and what you get is excellence in customer service, like I received}. I never confused ouvrir and fermé again.

@Tiger, welcome! Glad you made it here, and I hope you find what you're looking for.

Scandinavia is a great place to love nature generally. I flew into Arlanda and instantly fell in love with the place. At that time there was forest all around the runways. I love trees, and felt instantly safe there. The Jutland train conductors were a little scary😂 but that safe feeling stayed after going far north, and south, and west. I hope it hasn't changed much.

Welcome! I enjoy observing insects as well. Macro photography is great for recording some of what I observe too.

Thank you 😊 (Our train conductors are scary 😭 less scary ones are down in the south in my exp.) We also have under cover ticket police now! I don't know when you were here but there is still a lot of forrests baked into most cities 💚

Been wanting a macro lense for my camera for ages. Hope I'll get some time and space to look into that soon.

I'm very fatigued atm, but from what I could tell I admire and rellate to the amount of engagement.🎇 I am a surface interest fossil fan, mostly from the angle of natures design and differences in function and adaptation though time

@Tiger, I have spent a couple of months or more in Scandinavia over the years. This was the area of my first, major overseas trip - way back in the 70’s. It still holds a special place in my heart, and I would love to visit yet again one day. Whereabouts, generally, are you from?
